What I’m Thankful For

I promise I’ll have more for everybody soon. In the mean time, a recent GradHacker post was most appreciated (and sorely needed) by yours truly. This is what Thanksgiving is all about:

…take a step back and think about all the little things you’ve accomplished, all the people who have helped you on your way. Its time to take stock of what we have rather than what we are going to have.

So what am I thankful for, both in my personal life and my work life?

I am thankful for my friends in State College and in New Jersey. You know who you are – no matter what happens in life, your presence makes all the difference.

I am thankful for my family. Even if we don’t talk for a time, know that I’m thinking of all of you often.

I am thankful for my co-workers. You guys make the tedious parts of our job bearable and the interesting parts all that much better.

I am thankful for the opportunities I was born into. I know that not everybody gets the same chances that I have.

I am thankful for the mistakes I have made, for without them I would have learnt nothing.

I am thankful that I get an opportunity (almost) every day to advance human knowledge.

I am thankful that I actually have a job in this economic climate.

I am thankful for hummus and seltzer water. Without both of you, I’d be starving and dehydrated. Thx.

I am thankful that I have been able to continue my education and get paid for doing it.

I am thankful to be alive, to be creative, to be emotional, to make others’ lives better.

Happy Thanksgiving.
